Most Viewed Video Ads: Super Bowl 2020 Post-Game

February 04, 2020

As we mentioned in our pre-game post, Super Bowl advertisers showed their ability to react on the fly as unexpected events changed the game plan for some. The post-game Most Viewed Video Ads top 10 is a slightly different list compared to the pre-game, with some advertiser’s disappearing completely off the list (RIP Mr. Peanut, seriously this time).

Our True Reach™ technology helped us truly conceptualize the incredible impact that an event like the Super Bowl can have. In total, our tech reported 792 M views of Super Bowl related video ads across the internet! Here are the ads that captured your attention:

Amazon

The top digital ad for the Big Game this year belongs to Amazon with over 97 million views. While preparing for a night out, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi imagine what life was like before voice assistants. What follows is a trip through the past where we meet Alessa, a maid who throws firewood out the window to turn down the temperature, a jester named Alexei who can’t tell jokes, and Alesha, an assistant who’s asked by Nixon to delete “those tapes”.

Jeep

Coming in at second is Jeep with their commercial starring the always funny Bill Murray. In the spot, Bill reprises his role of Phil Connors, recreating several scenes from the classic film. While walking down the street reliving Groundhog Day once again, he notices something different for once – a brand new Jeep Gladiator which he uses to escape, groundhog in tow.

Stephen Tobolowsky also makes an appearance as the pesky Ned Ryerson.

Hyundai

Famous Bostonians John Krasinski, Chris Evans, and Rachel Dratch star alongside honorary Bostonian David Ortiz in Hyundai’s ad for their 2020 Sonata. The crew argue in over-the-top Boston accents whether John will be able to squeeze into a tight parking spot. Luckily, with the 2020 Sonata, “the cah pahks itself”. At the end of the spot, Hyundai appropriately alters their tagline to “Bettah Drives Us”.
