Holiday videos that captured your attention
December 13, 2019
There are plenty of ways that advertisers can grab consumer’s attention with holiday videos throughout the holiday season. In addition, there are more opportunities than you might think! Most people are quick to focus on Thanksgiving and therefore Black Friday deals, especially in the month of November. However, the truly noteworthy, and potentially unexpected event where some advertisers succeeded was for Movember!
Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as Anxiety, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men’s suicide. The Movember Foundation runs the Movember charity event, housed at Movember.com.
Only a few brands decided to join the conversation with holiday videos for this special occasion, but those who did were able to capture in the millions of True Reach™ views!
Most of these brands centered on humor to drive video viewership of the campaigns. That said, we are predicting that #Movember campaigns will increase in popularity in the coming years, with more brands understanding the value of cause marketing and the importance of having a true social purpose as part of your overarching marketing strategy.
Here’s a look at the Movember videos that came out on top:

Every other ad in the chart had Black Friday flashing signs, product sale features or short format humor. Taking that in consideration, we’re hoping in the coming years we’ll start to see advertisers being more creative about their Black Friday efforts, like maybe a few other #DealDropDance (s).
