Most Viewed Video Ads: Retailers Use Humor to Make the Top 10
September 09, 2019
This week we see a few new campaigns rise into the top five of the MVVA chart, many of which use humor to gain consumer attention. In the third spot on this week’s chart is a funny clip from GEICO, with Apple and Nike entering the top 10 as well.
Check out some of the top spots below with the full Top 10 list at the bottom:
GEICO
Geico takes the third spot in an ad campaign featuring NFL hall of famer Jerome “The Bus” Bettis. The message is pretty simple: having Geico makes things easy. Just as easy as flag football is with Jerome Bettis on your team. Geico garnered just over 20 million views this week on this campaign, taking advantage of the start to the new NFL season.
Apple
Apple introduces a new kind of credit card, created by Apple, not a bank. The ad touts the saving benefits of the credit card, including cash back and detailed visual maps of where consumers spend. The card also integrates the iPhone Face ID technology to add an extra level of privacy.
Nike
This hilarious ad for Nike features actor and comedian Ilana Glazer, who is best known for her show Broad City that used to air on Comedy Central. In the spot, Illana is on her quest to get a “runner’s high” which takes on more than one meaning in the humorous ad.
