Most Viewed Video Ads: March Madness Finalists

The top 10 Most Viewed Video Ads for this year’s March Madness tournament are IN! There were some great videos throughout the list from top brands in a wide array of industries. This year, the top ads relied on humor and NBA athletes to garner attention during “The Big Dance”.
Taking first place this year is Geico with over 8.3 million views. This year’s campaign features sideline reporters calling a basketball game while they are joined by the iconic Geico Gecko. He begins his time in the broadcasting booth talking about how easy it is to save money with Geico, but then becomes overly excited and proceeds to “pull a hammy” while celebrating.
Google Cloud, official partner of the NCAA, teamed up with 32 college students from across the nation to look at NCAA data with a new lens. They hacked away at a hackathon, worked alongside Google Cloud mentors, and learned how to use cloud technology with one goal: take a fresh look at March Madness with data.
Uber Eats used the March Madness event to highlight the efficiency of its delivery service. Randy Watkins makes a halftime sandwich delivery to some hungry referees…and gives some unwelcome feedback in the process.
Energy drink brand, BodyArmor, whose board of directors includes NBA Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant, features league superstars Donovan Mitchell and James Harden calling each other about their brackets. In the spot, the players used rotary phones to call each other and used typewriters, poking fun at older technology. The ad is one of many in the “Thanks” campaign that takes aim at Gatorade, which the brand paints as an out of date energy drink.
