Which Advertiser Stole Your Heart This Mother’s Day?

This year Mother’s Day wasn’t just celebrated in homes across the continent, it was also celebrated by brand advertisers. Digital video campaigns garnered millions of video views, measured by our True Reach® Insights Platform. Don’t forget that the True Reach® Insights Platform measures both paid and organic digital video media. Social views are garnered by user-generated content including copies, mixes, mashups, spoofs and “inspired by” clips.
We noticed two consistent themes with the content this year, let’s take a look:
No surprise, many advertisers were working to pull your heartstrings this year and they did an amazing job. Special mention to Telefora who ranked in the #1 spot this year with their Love Makes a Mom campaign.
#1 Teleflora – Teleflora comes in first place with over 25 million views! Love Makes a Mom is a heartwarming campaign featuring videos that show moms, or women taking on that mom role, talking about their children/loved ones and what that love means to them. Each mom’s voiceover interview plays over footage of their family.
#3 Hallmark – Hallmark’s heartwarming campaign shows footage of moms with their children with a voiceover discussing the love a mom has for her kids. The campaign garnered over 5.8 million views.
#9 Kay Jewelers – Another jewelry company makes the chart in ninth place. Kay’s campaign celebrates a mom’s unconditional love for her kids. The campaign features a heartwarming voiceover with fun and sweet footage of kids and their moms.
Another topic that stood out in the chart was female empowerment. Calling out things like uniqueness, strength and flexibility, marketers sought to inspire sentiments of pride and accomplishment in their viewers.
#5 Pandora Jewelry – Pandora’s campaign preaches how every mother is unique and deserves a gift that celebrates who she is. The brand highlights mothers who are fun, strong, loyal, loving, tough, and so much more in a series of short spots. In one a mom changes a tire all on her own and in another a mom and her son get in a food fight.
#6 Budweiser – Budweiser’s inspirational This Bud’s for the Real MVP earned over 1.9 million views. The campaign includes footage of famous basketball players with a voiceover from Wanda Durant, Kevin Durant’s mom, talking about everything she taught her son over the years.
