Mr. Hayek is addicted to transformation. In 2004, Tal founded an ad-tech company, a marketing platform focused on lead generation and customer acquisition. In 2006, it was sold to a public company. Staying on for two years, Tal was a key contributor in helping the company’s revenue grow to $110MM in 2008. However, it was during his time at the helm that Tal began to notice major inefficiencies in media buying. In 2009, Tal shifted this value focus to digital advertising and Acuity was born.
Dr. Mekuz is the heart of Acuity’s industry leading technology. Through his expert guidance, Acuity’s machine learning algorithm has developed into an industry leader, utilizing real time bidding technology to optimize campaign performance in real-time. Dr. Mekuz has been researching machine learning algorithms for statistical pattern recognition and predictive analytics since 1997. His work has been published and cited in numerous professional publications, textbooks and patents. In his spare time Nathan enjoys swimming, running and cooking.
Ms. Kapcan began her career in the world-renowned Unit 8200 of the Israeli Intelligence Corps – whose alumni have gone on to found the backbone of Israeli high-tech, including Check Point, ICQ and AudioCodes. While in 8200, Rachel developed and designed contextual information and research systems and led projects developing a full-text retrieval system, including morphological and soundex searches. More recently, Rachel has managed multi-million dollar infrastructure projects in the financial services industry.
In 1998, Mr. Ontman founded OTA, a computer-supply company focusing on large enterprises. With a superior marketing team and plan in place, Joe defied the odds in an exceptionally competitive environment, landing clients including Mount Sinai Hospital, The Hospital for Sick Children, Credit Suisse, The University of Toronto, The Government of Ontario and many others. In 2007, he founded a successful affiliate marketing company specializing in client acquisitions via search marketing, email marketing and media buys.
David brings a wealth of business, financial, human resources and executive experience, with more than 30 years of experience in the information technology sector. He has worked with a wide range of companies, from Fortune 500 Companies to Canadian ‘small cap’ Companies.
Seraj Bharwani is the Chief Strategy Officer at AcuityAds and is responsible for consumer insights on cross-screen, digital & social media. Previously, Seraj led the Strategy & Analytics practice at Digitas for over 14 years. He joined the agency as part of the founding team that led the company through its early growth phase, the IPO and exit via acquisition by Publicis. Seraj is a graduate of MIT Media Lab and an author of several refereed articles on emerging, cross-screen, audience behaviors critical to driving business results.
Ron has spent the past 17 years in digital media, with a strong focus on video advertising. He guided the interactive television pioneer GoldPocket Interactive through its acquisition by Tandberg Television, which was acquired by Ericsson. He has since provided operational expertise to Visible Measures, focusing on efficient delivery for marketing powerhouses including Ford, Merck, Samsung and Unilever.
Renzo’s primary focus areas at Acuity are marketing, expanding the Self-Serve business and establishing new relationships with Enterprise companies that can leverage Acuity’s industry leading programmatic advertising platform. Mr. Dipasquale has extensive experience in running Channel and Enterprise teams at leading technology companies including Avaya Canada, Symantec and OnX Enterprise Solutions. In 2013, he was a founding member of the Canadian Channel Chiefs Council (CCCC) and most recently, Mr. Dipasquale was the Vice President of Enterprise Sales for Avaya Canada, focused on selling Unified Communications and Collaboration solutions to the largest enterprise customers across Canada.
Jeff is an accomplished veteran of the Canadian advertising industry, holding senior positions at Pattison, Canwest, Aol and Microsoft prior to joining Acuity. Jeff is a proven leader, skilled in collaboration and committed to delivering audiences to advertiser objectives.
